As Robert Burns said so well--

The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men,
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

This morning I promised that I would say an individual "hello" to each of you lovely people.  Alas, that is not to be.  Somehow the hours have slipped away from me, and it is already well passed my bedtime.  (Who knew reading hearing transcripts could cause time to fly?)

As I
mentioned this morning, I have a memo due to the judges on my panel by noon on Friday (as in less than 2 days).  I haven't even started the legal discussion--still slogging my way through the record for the facts.  So, I don't know when I'm going to be able to raise my head above the morass to have some fun.

(I'm really tired of putting my life on hold still....and again....*sigh*)

Anyway, welcome to all travelers.  Feel free to drop me a line.  (Also, I'm still trying to figure out how to put hyperlinks in posts (and indicate the social media source).  How do you do this magic?!?!)

So a quick "Hi everybody!!!" Thank you *SO* much to wintercreek for including me and introducing me in her post!! I promise to say a personal hello to each of you later.  (I'm at work and have a memo due Friday at noon--and it's a bear--so I'm feeling particularly stressed about getting it done!)

I just wanted to acknowledge all the wonderfulness!

(There should really be a "joyful" in the mood selection.)

I keep forgetting about this place.

Bach has ALWAYS been my go-to source of music when I'm feeling particularly down or mopey.  Bach is also my go-to when I'm feeling good.  Basically, Bach is my go-to.  There's something about the contrapuntal harmonies, the pizzicato-like sound of the piano (particularly when it's played by Glenn Gould)--to mimic the plucking that a harpsichord would make--that fills the soul and makes you want to share the joy bursting forth.

So, I'm sitting at work, reading and editing the judge's opinions as well as working on my own memo, listening to Glenn Gould play Bach's partitas.  It makes me bounce in my chair, tap my feet and wish my computer keyboard were actually a piano keyboard.

Sometimes too, Bach can help me find my way back to my center point.  I'm hoping his music will do so now.
